Who is one athlete that you believe is a great leader? Why do you think this athlete is so great?
Here's my answer:
In my opinion, Mariano Rivera is an outstanding leader. I feel fortunate just to be able to watch such a talented pitcher. He may be the greatest relief pitcher in the history of baseball. However, he also leads his teammates in word and deed. Young pitchers go to him in the bullpen and ask for advice. He speaks softly, but when he gets serious, everyone in the Yankees' locker room listens to him. Mariano Rivera is committed to his team and committed to performing his best at all times--he is a great leader.

Rough loss for the Yankees on Friday night, but look at what Mariano Rivera did: 2 innings pitched, no runs allowed, only 1 hit allowed, 2 strikeouts. Even more importantly, he only had to throw 23 pitches in 2 innings, and 20 of those pitches were strikes. He's a legend, really.

ReplyDeleteI think that Derek Jeter is a good leader. Reason why I consider him as a good leader because he has a good personality also because he bats good and is a defenser. You never see him fight over anything. I also think he has respect for everyone he does as he is suppose to do as a player. After all when he strikeouts or has an out he doesn't get mad all he does say "Oh". But what can we say it's just a game.
Mariano is a good pitcher is that i didn't like that blown save on saturday when he hit jeff francouver but Derek Jeter is the yankee captain now but when his contrat ends i would like mark Texiera to be a captain he is doing good with 30+ home runs and 100+!!

Really, Adrian, you think the Yankees would allow Derek Jeter to go to another team? I think he'll be on the Yankees until he retires, and he'll be the captain until he retires too. (Of course, I could be wrong.) Why do you think Mark Teixeira would be a good captain? Does he show himself as a leader in other things besides his hitting? Are there things he says or ways that he acts that would inspire a baseball team?

ok i will write one tommorow but also Teixeira could be captain because he is also good with fielding.He can get alot of Gold Gloves and so can jeter.Also i believe that jeter's contract is going to end this season.Anyway jeter can stay with them very long he is doing a very good job with them.I also believe they won't trade him.
